Research Program

My research focuses on improving patient experience. My work targets three areas crucial to patient experience: diagnostic error, the patient-clinician relationship, and patient support networks including online communities. My work seeks to better understand how patient relationships with clinicians work in concert with patients' broader support networks outside of the healthcare system to shape the patient experience, particularly around issues of diagnosis. My current work focuses on patients with endometriosis, though I am interested in other illnesses for which diagnosis is not straightforward, such as but not limited to long COVID, lupus, and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS).

Projects:
1. Endometriosis Patient Online Communities

2. Endometriosis Physician and Partner Invalidation
3. Endometriosis Physician Support Preferences
